The Oracle
The Oracle refers to a person or medium through whom a deity is believed to communicate. In ancient cultures, oracles provided guidance and predictions about the future, often in response to questions posed by individuals or city-states. The most famous oracle was the Oracle of Delphi in ancient Greece, where the priestess Pythia delivered cryptic messages believed to be inspired by the god Apollo.
Oracles played a significant role in decision-making, influencing everything from personal choices to major political actions. People would travel long distances to seek the wisdom of an oracle, believing that their insights could lead to favorable outcomes in various aspects of life, including warfare, agriculture, and personal affairs.
