The Housemartins
The Housemartins were a British band formed in 1983 in Hull, England. They gained popularity in the mid-1980s with their unique blend of pop and indie rock, characterized by catchy melodies and socially conscious lyrics. The group is best known for hits like "Happy Hour" and "Caravan of Love," which showcased their distinctive vocal harmonies and upbeat sound.
The band consisted of members Paul Heaton, Stan Cullimore, Ted Key, and Dave Hemingway. They disbanded in 1988, but their music continues to influence artists today. After the breakup, Heaton went on to form the successful band Beautiful South, furthering his impact on the British music scene.
