The Hedgehog
The hedgehog is a small, spiny mammal belonging to the family Erinaceidae. Found primarily in Europe, Asia, and Africa, hedgehogs are known for their distinctive coat of sharp quills, which serve as a defense mechanism against predators. They are nocturnal creatures, foraging for insects, worms, and other small invertebrates at night.
Hedgehogs have a unique ability to roll into a tight ball when threatened, protecting their vulnerable undersides. They are solitary animals and typically live in gardens, forests, and grasslands. In some regions, they are kept as pets, while in others, they are considered important for controlling pest populations in the wild.
