The Del-Vikings
The Del-Vikings were an American doo-wop group formed in the 1950s in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They are best known for their hit song "Come Go with Me," which reached the top of the charts in 1957. The group originally consisted of members who were part of the U.S. Air Force, and their music blended vocal harmonies with rhythm and blues influences.
The Del-Vikings were notable for being one of the first racially integrated vocal groups in the United States. Their success helped pave the way for other mixed-race bands in the music industry, contributing to the evolution of genres like rock and roll and rhythm and blues.
