The Civil War of 1812
The War of 1812 was a conflict fought between the United States and the British Empire from 1812 to 1815. The war was primarily caused by issues such as trade restrictions, impressment of American sailors into the British Navy, and British support for Native American resistance against American expansion.
The war included notable battles like the Battle of New Orleans and the burning of Washington, D.C.. Although the war ended in a stalemate with the Treaty of Ghent, it fostered a sense of national unity in the United States and marked the decline of Federalist Party influence.
