The Beastie Boys
The Beastie Boys were an American hip-hop group formed in 1981 in New York City. The original members included Mike D, MCA, and Ad-Rock. They gained fame with their debut album, Licensed to Ill, which was released in 1986 and became the first rap album to top the Billboard 200 chart.
Known for their unique blend of rap, punk, and rock, the Beastie Boys influenced many artists and genres. They continued to release successful albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s, including Paul's Boutique and Hello Nasty. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
