Thadingyut
Thadingyut is a traditional festival celebrated in Myanmar, marking the end of the Buddhist Lent. It usually falls in October and lasts for three days. During this time, people pay homage to the Buddha and offer food and gifts to monks. Homes and streets are adorned with colorful lights, symbolizing the return of the Buddha from the heavens.
The festival is also known as the "Lighting Festival" because of the beautiful illuminations. Families gather to celebrate, share meals, and participate in various cultural activities. It is a time for forgiveness, reflection, and strengthening community bonds.
