Textile Workers Union of America
The Textile Workers Union of America (TWUA) was a labor union formed in 1939 to represent workers in the textile industry. It aimed to improve working conditions, wages, and job security for its members, advocating for their rights through collective bargaining and strikes. The union played a significant role in the labor movement during the mid-20th century.
In 1976, the TWUA merged with the United Rubber Workers to form the United Textile Workers of America, which continued to represent textile workers. The union's efforts contributed to significant advancements in labor rights and protections within the textile sector.
