Texas UIL
The Texas UIL, or University Interscholastic League, is an organization that oversees public school extracurricular activities in Texas. Founded in 1910, it manages competitions in academics, athletics, and fine arts for students in grades 1 through 12. The UIL aims to promote educational excellence and provide students with opportunities to develop skills in teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
UIL competitions include a wide range of events, such as football, basketball, debate, and music contests. Schools across Texas participate in these events, which are organized into various classifications based on school size. The UIL also establishes rules and guidelines to ensure fair play and equal opportunities for all participants.
