Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid
Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid, or THCA, is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant. It is the precursor to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the well-known psychoactive component of cannabis. THCA is non-intoxicating and is primarily present in raw cannabis flowers.
When heated or decarboxylated, THCA converts to THC, which can produce psychoactive effects. THCA is believed to have potential therapeutic benefits, including anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties. Research is ongoing to better understand its effects and potential uses in medicine.
