Terrytoons is an American animation studio founded in 1921 by Paul Terry. It became known for producing a variety of animated shorts and series, featuring characters like Mighty Mouse, Tom and Jerry, and Gandy Goose. The studio was notable for its unique animation style and storytelling, appealing to both children and adults.
In the 1940s and 1950s, Terrytoons gained popularity through theatrical releases and television syndication. The studio was eventually acquired by CBS in 1960, leading to the production of new content and the revival of classic characters. Despite its decline in the late 20th century, Terrytoons remains a significant part of animation history.
