Tepehua Language
The Tepehua language is a member of the Totonacan language family, primarily spoken by the Tepehua people in the mountainous regions of Veracruz and Puebla in Mexico. It consists of several dialects, including Tepehua de la Sierra and Tepehua de la Costa, each with unique linguistic features.
Tepehua is an endangered language, with a declining number of speakers due to the influence of Spanish and urbanization. Efforts are being made to revitalize the language through educational programs and community initiatives, aiming to preserve the cultural heritage of the Tepehua community.
