Tennessee State Senate
The Tennessee State Senate is the upper chamber of the Tennessee General Assembly, which is the legislative body of the state. It consists of 33 members who are elected to serve four-year terms. Senators represent various districts across Tennessee and are responsible for creating and voting on state laws, budgets, and policies.
The Senate works alongside the Tennessee House of Representatives, the lower chamber, to pass legislation. The Senate also plays a crucial role in confirming appointments made by the governor and overseeing various state agencies. Together, both chambers ensure that the interests of Tennessee residents are represented in government.
