Tennessee Court of Appeals
The Tennessee Court of Appeals is an intermediate appellate court in the state of Tennessee. It reviews decisions made by lower trial courts to ensure that the law was applied correctly. The court handles a variety of cases, including civil and criminal appeals, and its rulings can set important legal precedents.
Established in 1925, the court is divided into three regions: Eastern, Middle, and Western Tennessee. Each region has its own panel of judges who hear cases. The decisions made by the Tennessee Court of Appeals can be further appealed to the Tennessee Supreme Court if necessary.
