Telescope Array
The Telescope Array is a large cosmic ray observatory located in the deserts of Utah, USA. It is designed to detect high-energy particles from outer space, known as cosmic rays, which can provide valuable information about the universe's most energetic phenomena. The observatory consists of a network of ground-based detectors and telescopes that work together to observe and analyze these particles.
The Telescope Array features two main components: the surface detector array and the fluorescence detector. The surface detector measures the secondary particles produced when cosmic rays interact with the Earth's atmosphere, while the fluorescence detector captures the faint light emitted during these interactions. Together, they help scientists study the origins and properties of cosmic rays.
