Telecommunication Signaling
Telecommunication signaling refers to the process of sending and receiving control information in communication networks. This signaling is essential for establishing, managing, and terminating calls or data sessions. It ensures that devices can communicate effectively by coordinating actions like call setup, routing, and error handling.
There are various types of signaling methods, including in-band signaling, where control information is sent over the same channel as the data, and out-of-band signaling, which uses a separate channel. Common protocols used in telecommunication signaling include SS7 (Signaling System No. 7) and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), which facilitate communication between different network elements.
