Teke people
The Teke people are an ethnic group primarily found in the central region of the Republic of the Congo and parts of Democratic Republic of the Congo. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional music, dance, and art. The Teke language belongs to the Bantu language family, and many Teke people also speak French due to colonial influence.
The Teke are traditionally organized into clans, each with its own leadership and customs. They practice agriculture, cultivating crops like cassava and maize, and engage in hunting and fishing. The Teke people also have a strong spiritual belief system, often involving ancestor worship and rituals that connect them to their history and community.
