Tehran Conference
The Tehran Conference was a pivotal meeting held from November 28 to December 1, 1943, during World War II. Leaders from the Allied Powers, including Franklin D. Roosevelt (United States), Winston Churchill (United Kingdom), and Joseph Stalin (Soviet Union), gathered in Tehran, Iran. The main goal was to plan the next phases of the war against the Axis Powers and discuss strategies for the post-war world.
During the conference, the leaders agreed on a coordinated military strategy, including the launch of Operation Overlord, the invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe. They also discussed the importance of establishing a new international organization to promote peace, which later became the United Nations. The Tehran Conference marked a significant step in Allied cooperation and set the stage for future diplomatic efforts.
