Te Arawa
Te Arawa is one of the major Māori iwi (tribes) in New Zealand, primarily located in the Rotorua region. The tribe descends from the people who arrived on the Te Arawa canoe, one of the legendary voyaging canoes that brought Māori ancestors to New Zealand from Polynesia.
The Te Arawa people have a rich cultural heritage, including traditional arts, crafts, and performances. They are known for their strong connection to the land and water, particularly the lakes in the Rotorua area, which hold significant spiritual and historical importance for the tribe.
