Tay people
The Tay people are an ethnic group primarily found in the Tay River basin in Vietnam. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional music, dance, and festivals. The Tay language belongs to the Tai-Kadai language family, and many Tay people also speak Vietnamese.
Agriculture is a significant part of the Tay people's livelihood, with rice and maize being staple crops. They often practice wet rice cultivation in terraced fields. The Tay community is also recognized for its unique architectural styles, particularly their stilt houses, which are adapted to the mountainous terrain of their homeland.
