Taurida Governorate
The Taurida Governorate was a historical administrative region in the Russian Empire, established in 1802. It encompassed parts of present-day Ukraine, particularly the Crimea peninsula and surrounding areas. The governorate was named after the ancient name for the region, Tauris, and played a significant role in the empire's governance and development.
In 1918, the Taurida Governorate was dissolved following the Russian Revolution, leading to the establishment of new administrative divisions.
