Tate-LaBianca murders
The Tate-LaBianca murders refer to a series of brutal killings that took place in Los Angeles in August 1969. The most notable victim was actress Sharon Tate, who was eight months pregnant at the time. She, along with four others, was murdered by members of the Manson Family, a cult led by Charles Manson.
The following night, the Manson Family committed another set of murders at the home of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca. Both incidents shocked the nation and highlighted the violent influence of Manson's ideology. The murders led to a highly publicized trial and significant media coverage.
