Tanzanian President
The Tanzanian President is the head of state and government in the United Republic of Tanzania. This position is responsible for overseeing the country's administration, implementing laws, and representing Tanzania in international affairs. The president is elected for a five-year term and can serve a maximum of two terms.
As of October 2023, the current president is Samia Suluhu Hassan, who took office in March 2021 following the death of her predecessor, John Magufuli. She is the first female president in Tanzania's history and has focused on economic development and health issues during her administration.
