Tallgrass Prairie Preserve
The Tallgrass Prairie Preserve is a protected area located in northeastern Oklahoma, covering over 39,000 acres. It is one of the largest remaining examples of the tallgrass prairie ecosystem, which was once widespread across the central United States. The preserve is home to diverse plant and animal species, including bison, deer, and various birds.
Established in 1996 by the Nature Conservancy, the preserve aims to restore and maintain the natural landscape.
