Takao Class
The Takao Class is a series of heavy cruisers used by the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. Designed in the late 1930s, these ships were known for their speed and firepower, featuring advanced radar and weaponry for their time. The class includes three ships: Takao, Atago, and Maya, all named after mountains in Japan.
Each Takao Class cruiser was equipped with ten 8-inch guns and had a displacement of around 10,000 tons. They played significant roles in various naval battles, showcasing Japan's naval capabilities. The class was ultimately succeeded by newer designs as the war progressed.
