Tailwheel Gear
Tailwheel gear, also known as a taildragger, is a type of aircraft landing gear configuration where two main wheels are located under the wings and a smaller wheel, or skid, is positioned at the tail. This design allows for better performance on rough terrain and is commonly found in vintage aircraft and bush planes.
Unlike tricycle gear, which has a nose wheel, tailwheel gear can be more challenging to handle on the ground, especially during takeoff and landing. Pilots must be skilled in managing the aircraft's directional control to prevent it from tipping over or swerving unexpectedly.
