Taenia Saginata
Taenia saginata is a type of tapeworm that primarily infects cattle and can be transmitted to humans through the consumption of undercooked beef. This parasitic worm can grow up to 25 meters long and resides in the intestines of its host, where it absorbs nutrients.
In humans, Taenia saginata infection can lead to a condition known as taeniasis, which may cause mild gastrointestinal symptoms or be asymptomatic. Diagnosis is typically made through stool tests, and treatment usually involves medications that effectively eliminate the parasite from the body.
