TEN-T
The Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) is a European Union initiative aimed at improving transport infrastructure across Europe. It focuses on creating a comprehensive network of roads, railways, waterways, and airports to enhance connectivity between member states. The goal is to facilitate efficient movement of goods and people, promoting economic growth and regional development.
TEN-T consists of two main layers: the core network and the comprehensive network. The core network includes the most important transport routes, while the comprehensive network encompasses all other transport connections. This structured approach ensures that all regions benefit from improved transport links, supporting the EU's objectives for sustainable mobility and cohesion.
