Swiss National Anthem
The Swiss National Anthem, known as "Swiss Psalm," was composed in 1841 by Leonhard Widmer with music by Gottfried Keller. It was officially adopted as the national anthem in 1981, although it had been used informally for many years prior. The anthem reflects themes of unity, freedom, and the beauty of the Swiss landscape.
The lyrics of the anthem emphasize the values of peace and solidarity among the Swiss people. Unlike many national anthems, it is not often played at sporting events, but it holds a significant place in Swiss culture and identity, symbolizing the nation's pride and heritage.
