Swinoujscie Canal
The Swinoujscie Canal is a man-made waterway located in Poland, connecting the Baltic Sea to the Swinoujście port. Completed in 2015, it allows ships to navigate directly to the port without having to go around the Usedom Island, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing maritime traffic.
The canal is approximately 3.5 kilometers long and features a depth of 12.5 meters, accommodating larger vessels. It plays a crucial role in boosting the local economy by facilitating trade and tourism, while also improving the accessibility of the Swinoujście area for both commercial and recreational boating.
