Sweat Production
Sweat production is a natural process that helps regulate body temperature. When the body heats up due to exercise, high temperatures, or stress, the hypothalamus in the brain signals sweat glands to release sweat. This fluid, primarily composed of water and salt, evaporates from the skin's surface, cooling the body down.
There are two main types of sweat glands: eccrine and apocrine. Eccrine glands are found all over the body and produce a watery sweat, while apocrine glands, located in areas like the armpits, produce a thicker sweat that can contain proteins and fats. Both types play a role in thermoregulation and body odor.
