Svetlana Savitskaya is a renowned Russian cosmonaut, born on August 8, 1948. She became the first woman to fly in space in 1982, aboard the Soyuz T-7 spacecraft. Savitskaya completed two spaceflights and is known for her contributions to the Salyut space station program.
