Supreme Court of Ethiopia
The Supreme Court of Ethiopia is the highest judicial authority in the country. It oversees the interpretation of laws and ensures justice is served in accordance with the Constitution. The court has the power to review decisions made by lower courts and can also address constitutional issues.
Established in 1995, the Supreme Court plays a crucial role in maintaining the rule of law in Ethiopia. It is composed of a Chief Justice and several other justices, who are appointed by the Prime Minister and approved by the House of Peoples' Representatives. The court's decisions are final and binding.
