Supersonic Jet
A supersonic jet is an aircraft that can travel faster than the speed of sound, which is approximately 1,125 feet per second or 767 miles per hour at sea level. These jets are designed to reduce travel time significantly, allowing passengers to reach their destinations much quicker than conventional subsonic jets.
One of the most famous supersonic jets was the Concorde, which operated from 1976 to 2003. Supersonic travel is often associated with military aircraft, but advancements in technology are leading to new commercial supersonic jets that aim to make this fast travel available to more people in the future.
