Supergiant Stars
Supergiant stars are among the largest and most luminous stars in the universe. They typically have masses more than eight times that of our Sun, known as Sol. These stars can be found in various stages of their life cycle, often burning through their nuclear fuel at a rapid rate, which leads to their short lifespans of just a few million years.
As they evolve, supergiant stars expand and cool, becoming red or blue supergiants. Eventually, they may end their lives in spectacular explosions called supernovae, leaving behind remnants such as neutron stars or black holes. Their immense size and brightness make them key objects of study in astronomy.
