Sunny Day Real Estate is an American rock band formed in 1992 in Seattle, Washington. They are known for their influential role in the emo music genre, blending melodic elements with emotional lyrics. The band's original lineup included Jeremy Enigk, Dan Hoerner, Nate Mendel, and William Goldsmith. The group released several albums, including their debut, Diary, in 1994, which received critical acclaim. After disbanding in 1995, they reunited in 1997 and released How It Feels to Be Something On before going on another hiatus. Their music continues to inspire many artists in the alternative rock scene.
