Sunita Williams is an American astronaut and a United States Navy officer. She was born on September 19, 1965, in Euclid, Ohio. Williams holds the record for the longest spaceflight by a woman, spending 195 days in space during her mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
In addition to her time in space, Williams has completed multiple spacewalks, contributing to important maintenance and upgrades on the ISS. She is also known for her achievements in the field of engineering and has a degree in physical science from the United States Naval Academy.
