Sunan Giri
Sunan Giri was a prominent figure in the spread of Islam in Indonesia during the 15th century. He is one of the nine saints, known as the Wali Songo, who played a crucial role in the Islamization of the Javanese people. Sunan Giri established a significant Islamic boarding school and a mosque in Giri, East Java, which became centers for education and religious learning.
