Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo
The Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo is a large, white parrot native to Australia and nearby islands. It is easily recognized by its striking yellow crest, which it raises when excited or threatened. These birds are social and often found in flocks, feeding on seeds, fruits, and nuts in their natural habitat.
Known for their intelligence and playful behavior, Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos can mimic sounds and human speech. They have a strong, curved beak that helps them crack open hard seeds. Due to habitat loss and the pet trade, their populations are declining in some areas, making conservation efforts important.
