Sukanya Samriddhi
The Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a government-backed savings scheme in India designed to promote the education and welfare of the girl child. Launched in 2015, it encourages parents to save for their daughters' future by offering attractive interest rates and tax benefits. The scheme is available for girls up to the age of 10, and accounts can be opened in any post office or authorized bank.
Deposits can be made for a maximum of 15 years, and the account matures when the girl turns 21. The funds can be used for her higher education or marriage, ensuring financial support during crucial life stages.
