Storebæltsbroen
Storebæltsbroen, or the Great Belt Bridge, is a major bridge and tunnel system in Denmark that connects the islands of Zealand and Funen. Completed in 1998, it consists of a suspension bridge and an underwater tunnel, making it one of the longest bridges in Europe.
The bridge spans approximately 18 kilometers (11 miles) and plays a crucial role in Danish transportation, facilitating road and rail traffic. It significantly reduces travel time between the two islands, enhancing economic and social connections within the country.
