Stoning of the Devil
The "Stoning of the Devil" is a ritual performed during the Islamic pilgrimage known as Hajj. It takes place at the Jamaraat, which are three pillars representing the devil's temptation of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham). Pilgrims throw pebbles at these pillars to symbolize their rejection of evil and their commitment to faith.
This ritual occurs on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, coinciding with the celebration of Eid al-Adha. Pilgrims collect small stones and throw them at the pillars over several days, reinforcing their spiritual resolve and unity with fellow Muslims participating in the pilgrimage.
