Stonewall Book Awards
The Stonewall Book Awards are prestigious literary honors presented annually by the American Library Association (ALA). Established in 1971, these awards recognize outstanding works of literature that reflect the lives and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. They aim to promote awareness and appreciation of LGBTQ+ literature in libraries and schools.
The awards are divided into several categories, including children's and young adult literature, as well as adult fiction and nonfiction. Each year, a committee of librarians and literature experts evaluates submissions to select the most impactful and relevant works, celebrating diverse voices and stories within the LGBTQ+ community.
