Sternentstehungsgebieten
Sternentstehungsgebiete, or star formation regions, are areas in space where new stars are born. These regions are often found within large clouds of gas and dust, known as Molekülwolken. The dense parts of these clouds collapse under their own gravity, leading to the formation of stars.
In these regions, the process of star formation can take millions of years. As the gas and dust come together, they create protostars, which eventually ignite nuclear fusion in their cores. This process is crucial for the evolution of galaxies and contributes to the overall structure of the universe.
