Stephen Siller
Stephen Siller was a firefighter with the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) who became known for his heroic actions during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. On that day, he was off duty but rushed to the World Trade Center after hearing about the attacks. He parked his truck and ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, carrying 60 pounds of gear, to help rescue those trapped in the buildings.
Tragically, Stephen Siller lost his life when the towers collapsed. In his honor, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation was established to support first responders and their families, as well as to provide mortgage-free homes to veterans and those in need.
