Stephen Poloz
Stephen Poloz is a Canadian economist who served as the Governor of the Bank of Canada from June 2013 to June 2020. He played a key role in shaping the country's monetary policy, particularly during challenging economic times, including the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis.
Before his tenure at the Bank of Canada, Poloz was the President and CEO of Export Development Canada, where he focused on promoting Canadian exports and international trade. He has a strong academic background, holding a degree in economics from Queen's University and a master's degree from University of Western Ontario.
