Stegouros
Stegouros is a genus of dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 million years ago. It was discovered in what is now Chile and is known for its unique body structure, particularly its distinctive tail, which had a flattened, blade-like shape. This feature suggests that it may have used its tail for defense against predators.
The fossil evidence indicates that Stegouros was a herbivorous dinosaur, likely feeding on low-lying vegetation. It belonged to the group of dinosaurs known as ankylosaurs, which are characterized by their armored bodies and club-like tails. The discovery of Stegouros has provided valuable insights into the diversity of dinosaur species in the southern hemisphere.
