Stegosauridae
Stegosauridae is a family of herbivorous dinosaurs that lived during the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous periods, approximately 155 to 100 million years ago. They are best known for their distinctive double row of large, bony plates along their backs and spiked tails, which may have been used for defense or display.
These dinosaurs were generally slow-moving and had a small head compared to their body size. Stegosaurus is the most famous member of this family, characterized by its unique body shape and features. Fossils of Stegosauridae have been found in North America, Europe, and Asia, providing valuable insights into their biology and ecology.
