Stegosauria
Stegosauria is a group of large, herbivorous dinosaurs known for their distinctive plates and spikes along their backs. They lived during the Late Jurassic to the Late Cretaceous periods, approximately 155 to 66 million years ago. Stegosaurs had a low, bulky body and a small head, with their most famous member being Stegosaurus.
These dinosaurs primarily fed on low-lying plants and used their plates for display, thermoregulation, or defense. The arrangement of their plates and spikes varied among species, contributing to their unique appearance. Fossils of stegosaurs have been found in North America, Europe, and Asia, providing valuable insights into their biology and behavior.
