Stegoceras
Stegoceras is a genus of dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous period, approximately 76 to 70 million years ago. It belonged to the group of dinosaurs known as ornithischians, specifically the pachycephalosaurs, which are characterized by their thick, domed skulls. Stegoceras was a small, bipedal herbivore, measuring about 2.5 meters (8 feet) long.
This dinosaur is notable for its distinctive skull structure, which featured a thick, bony dome on top. The dome may have been used for display or head-butting behavior, similar to modern-day bighorn sheep. Fossils of Stegoceras have been found in North America, providing valuable insights into the diversity of dinosaur life during its time.
